Looking for a 2010 Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Sacramento?

They are doing their yearly Cinco de Mayo celebration/festival on the 2700 block of J street again this year (includes Centro Cocina Mexicana and Harlowes).  If you haven’t been before, it is a huge party (go early to get in, or stand in line for awhile).  Starts at 4pm on May 5 till they shut it down.  There will be live music, a mariachi band and outdoor bars. Sacramento Filmmaker’s Horror Movie to Get National Theatrical Release

We slept on this because that is what we do best, but for an independent filmmaker out of Sacramento to get theatrical distribution is a pretty impressive accomplishment.  Congratulations Deon! I can’t think of any others off the top of my head.  If you know of any, let me know.

Sacramento HipHop Group Delorean Launching New Website

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Sacramento’s Own Delorean (emcee 5th Ave and producer Jon Reyes) are launching their new website.

They promise:

…individual artist blogs filled with genius and absolute non-sense, art, music,
fashion, recipes, randomness, mayhem and debauchery…

Dumbworld is always down for a little mayhem and debauchery.

The video Hey Alice is from their album “No More Heroes.” Here is their “Dear Langston” video.

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter Showing at MOBS on Easter- Oy Vey!

Vampires are in and all, but Dumbworld is probably going to burn for this one.  Cult film, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is showing at MOBS in Sacramento on Easter Sunday, April 4th, 2010. 7:30 PM, Admission: $5.00, The Guild, 2828 35th St, Sacramento, CA 95817.

from MOBS

Combining kung-fu action with biblical prophecy and a liberal dose of humor, the film teams the Savior with Mexican wrestling hero El Santos against mythological horrors and science gone mad, and also manages to address contemporary sexual politics. Oh – and it’s a musical.
