Cinco de Mayo Outdoor Fiesta

Looking for a 2010 Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Sacramento?

They are doing their yearly Cinco de Mayo celebration/festival on the 2700 block of J street again this year (includes Centro Cocina Mexicana and Harlowes).  If you haven’t been before, it is a huge party (go early to get in, or stand in line for awhile).  Starts at 4pm on May 5 till they shut it down.  There will be live music, a mariachi band and outdoor bars. Exit Through The Gift Shop

Saw a poster for this (Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop) and was intrigued.  Sorry, Sacramento hasn’t been deemed cool enough to get a showing.

heArt for the Kids

Later this month, Shane Grammer of SG studios is taking a team of artists to Svay Pak, Cambodia to paint murals with girls who were either rescued from or in danger of being forced into prostitution.

Above is part of one of the paintings that will auctioned off.  Shane explains some of the inspiration behind it below: Continue reading

Sacramento HipHop Group Delorean Launching New Website

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Sacramento’s Own Delorean (emcee 5th Ave and producer Jon Reyes) are launching their new website.

They promise:

…individual artist blogs filled with genius and absolute non-sense, art, music,
fashion, recipes, randomness, mayhem and debauchery…

Dumbworld is always down for a little mayhem and debauchery.

The video Hey Alice is from their album “No More Heroes.” Here is their “Dear Langston” video.

For Second Saturday Painter Ryan Seng’s Blind Tiger Exhibition at Sacramento’s Shady Lady Saloon

One of Dumbworld’s favorite painters, Ryan Seng is having his Blind Tiger Exhibition, Saturday, April 10, 2010, 6:00pm – 9:00pm, at the Shady Lady Saloon and Mahony Art Loft, 1409 R Street corner of R and 14th, Sacramento, California.

We worked with him on Natasha Kmeto’s video for Drunk Dial.  More on Ryan here, but don’t click on it if you are easily offended. Oops, I knew that would get you to click on it.
