Congratulations to Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Tyrekes

Congratulations to Tyreke Evans on the Rookie of the Year honors.  Very cool for Sac.  Jay from Dumbworld has the trademark on the Sacramento Tyrekes (feel free to use that one).

Speaking of the Kings. . .

I think Dumbworld might have to represent and pick up some of these Nike SB Dunk Highs in Kings colors that are coming out in May.

Sacramento Metro Edge Night with the Kings and April Second Saturday Pre Party

For young professionals in the Sacramento area, watch the Kings versus the Clippers on April 8, 2010 with Sac Metro Edge for $19.50 for upper level tickets.  Your tickets include a special pregame mixer with Kings Senior VP of Business Operations John Rinehart, who will discuss the “Business of Pro Sports.”

Halftime show by Sacramento artist, David Garibaldi (I remember when dude used to paint at Fox and the Goose and had just quit his job at a bank, to paint fulltime.  A great story).

Deadline to buy ticket is April 1st.  The mixer is for Sac Metro Edge members only.  More information on membership here.

Also, Sac Metro Edge is having a Second Saturday Pre-Party at the MARRS building (20th and J Streets) on April 10, 2010 from 5-7pm.  It is free to guests of Sac Metro Edge members.  Go here for more information.

“Crowdfunding” to Finance Your Independent Film Project

I’ve heard of IndieGoGo and Kickstarter as crowdfunding sources, but here is a success story.  Gregory Bayne raised $27,210, from 410 contributors, in 20 days for his new documentary on UFC fighter, Jens Pulver | Driven.  Check out his blog New Breed, and his guiding principles on crowdfunding. via the workbook project

Tiger Woods Returns in 3D?

If you care, I guess you couldn’t make this stuff up if you wanted to: Tiger Woods times comeback to coincide with the first broadcast of the Masters Golf Tournament in 3D.

“The production will primarily focus on the second nine of Augusta National and will be distributed live to those in the U.S. with television sets and computers that are 3-D capable,” the Masters Tourney announcement said.

It should be an even more over-the-top media circus. Awesome!

Frank Yang is My Hero

Dude has a 40 inch standing vertical jump, a 63 inch standing box jump and can do 33 consecutive pullups (among other things), and he directs and edits.  Dude is like a superhero, like Chuck Norris or something.

January Birthday? Get a Free Sacramento Kings Ticket.

Get a free ticket to one of four January home games.  Looks pretty legit- but these days, who knows.  via the freebie blogger
